All focus was on the Tour of the Valley for this issue. At the last minute the production staff had the horrifying realization that we had no mention of peaches in the issue – and it was peach season! Palisade is all about their peaches (better than Georgia peaches in my humble opinion) so I remembered this savory favorite, dashed home to make it, fought the kids off long enough to photograph the finished product, then let the ravening hordes have at it as I dashed back to the magazine office to finish the issue. My wonderful kids even saved a serving for me to eat when the magazine had been put to bed and I came home to do the same.
